As the body becomes toxic, we often feel sluggish, tired and uninspired. Our bodies are looking for a way to release the stagnating material and return to lightness. Relieving the body from the work of digestion by routinely fasting one day per week is a great way of helping the body regenerate. It is simple to do and the benefits are significant. To prepare, simply have a light salad the evening before you want to fast, include mixed greens and other veggies and avoid croutons or heavy dressings. The day of your fast, begin with deep breathing exercises. This assists in releasing waste as well as enhancing alkalinity through oxygenating the body. The more alkaline and oxygenated we are, the more toxins we can release! Before showering take a minute to dry skin brush. This exfoliates the skin, opens the pores and moves the lymph. It is a simple way to substantially enhance the detoxification process. Throughout your day, drink freshly squeezed lemon juice in water, herbal teas, green drinks and greens based vegetable juice. As your day comes to a close, have a fresh salad with organic greens, veggies and sprouts. That’s it! By taking one day off from eating solid food, all your organs and systems of elimination get a break and are able to release and restore. Renew and replenish yourself on every level, body, mind and spirit, by fasting one day per week.
