Bea Johnson’s Top Tips To Reduce Waste

Make your own cleaning products. Mix 1 ½ teaspoons of castile soap (we like Dr. Bronner’s) with 3 tsp. white vinegar and 4 cups water.

Use handkerchiefs instead of tissue paper.

Use bulk bags when shopping for produce. We like Flip & Tumble’s produce bags.

Bring your own jars to the grocery store for bulk goods. Just be sure you weigh them first (and talk to the store clerk to explain!) And of course, remember your reusable bags.

Cut back on your wardrobe. While Bea has a very minimalist wardrobe (only 6 pairs of shoes, 7 tops and pants and 2 skirts), we can all reduce clutter by donating items that we haven’t worn in more than a year, and only buying items that have longevity.
