Over a full hour of devotional chanting, including the lovely Ek Ong Kaar, is featured on this latest recording from Kaur. Her clear voice resonates peacefully on selections that seem somehow charged with an essence of healing and goodwill. Kaur, whose first name translates to “universal,” began studies with her first meditation teacher while in India when she was only six years old. Well versed in the Sanskrit-based language of Gurmukhi from Northern India, she has eight other recordings to her credit, and tours around the planet sharing her gift of inspirational and healing music. A product of the kundalini tradition, Kaur is the lead vocalist on the Celebrate Peace tours. She’s based in New Mexico, and in addition to performing and recording, she also offers kundalini yoga and meditation workshops around the country.
