Need Help Navigating the Natural Food Market?

With the dizzying array of natural foods available from the known to the bizarre, a trip to the natural food store may feel a bit like a scavenger hunt. Greg Hottinger, MPH, R.D., makes the process much easier with his book, The Best Natural Foods on the Market Today—A Yuppie’s Guide to Hippie Food (Huckleberry Mountain Press, 2004)—a resource for both natural food experts and novices. The opening chapters focus on the best products available from almond and soymilks to free-range, antibiotic-free chicken, Bragg’s Liquid Amino’s, flaxseed oil, and nutritional yeast. Most of the chapters include recipes like the Flashback Salmon Patties featured here that enable you to try a new product in an easy-to-prepare recipe. The last section of the book includes a wealth of information on such topics as organic farming, genetically engineered foods, and food additives. If you’re looking for assistance or just more information on natural foods, this is your source. For more information visit www.bestnaturalfoods.com
