Spa Cuisine for Athletes (aka those with appetites)

Too hungry for “Spa Cuisine”? It seems many of us are. In response, Red Mountain Spa in St. George, Utah, has redefined typical spa cuisine with its new Adventure Cuisine menu. Collectively coined Adventure Cuisine, the PowerFuel, Call of the Wild, and Green Cuisine menus allow guests to decide for themselves what they need during their stay. PowerFuel is for sports buffs who need extra calories to fuel their adventure cravings; dining options include Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Pancakes.

Call of the Wild, alternatively, focuses on natural local ingredients, is low in calories, and the calories from fat never exceeds twenty-five percent; dining options include Char-Grilled Bison with Spinach Risotto. Finally, the vegetarian option, Green Cuisine, is the lowest in calories of the three menu options and receives less than twenty percent of its calories from fat; dishes include Roasted Japanese Eggplant Filled Squash and Garbanzo Beans in a Mushroom Broth.
