We know the drill for a longer life: eat less sugar and fat, move more, sleep more, and stress less. But did you know that being a “yes” person could make you age faster than your no-centric counterparts?

If you’re like us, you’re more likely to say yes to another obligation than risk upsetting someone else. Unfortunately, being the yes team can cause you to be stressed and unhappy. Ready to say no?

What makes you happy? If you know what you want in your life it makes it easier to weed out what you don’t. And what is keeping you from having what you want?

Learn to pause. When you’re confronted with a new task, job, or request, take a long deep breath and notice what the request feels like in your body. Do you feel expansion? Or contraction? These reactions should be a clue as to whether you’re wanting or feeling obligated to say yes.

Say no and mean it. You have to be firm when you say no. Otherwise your no may be taken as a maybe.

Learn how to do about yourself, do what YOU want to do, delegate and perhaps practice the ‘to-dos’ with those close to you for which you are doing! It’s a group effort.
