Stuck in a Chair? Stay Healthy on Your Coffee Break
Continued from our Retreat & Renew Daily Tip.

Stuck in a chair most of the day? Keep your waistline—and your heart—in shape with these quick, easy breaks.
- Duck into a remote corner of the office and try some standing yoga poses (even if you’re wearing a skirt). Mountain pose will improve your posture, and chair pose will work your arms and legs while stimulating your heart.
- Take a quick lap of the office, or head outside for a walk around the block. You’ll only be away from your desk for five minutes, but that brief jaunt is great for your health.
- Stand ’n chat. Making a quick phone call? Stand up while you’re talking.
- Bring a reusable water bottle to work and refill it throughout the day. The trips to the kitchen or drinking fountain will ensure you get plenty of short standing breaks.
- Take public transit? Take yourself out of the battle for a seat and stand instead.
